Miley Watts & Associates is an IT Consultancy that specializes in solving data & information management problems in all their many forms. Like many IT organisations problem solving is what drives us but unlike many consultancies we focus on the data requirements rather than the technicalities of the software applications themselves.

As Enterprise Data Architects it is Information rather than technology that drives us forward - it's a fascinating subject that continually occupies our thoughts and is the focus we use in trying to understand the world around us.

By understanding the information present in a system the system itself is abstracted up to a conceptual level that is not dependent on Mere Implementation Detail and through abstraction is then transportable onto other platforms (the entire basis for Model Driven Architecture) and allows the same information to be re-used across technology shifts (such as the 20 year shift from Centralised to Client / Server to Service Oriented environments). All of these can be survived if the principles of the Enterprise Data Architecture are understood and applied properly.

Knowing this and developing the sound architectural principles then applying them to diverse and complex business information problems adds to the fun of living and working with enterprise data.

Miley Watts LLP was originally formed in 2005 by Simon Watts and Adrian Miley as a Limited LiabilityPartnership (LLP) to provide Enterprise Data Architecture advice and consultancy. The business was successful to the point that in 2007 we decided to also start software development to create niche data management applications to address specific problems in distributed data management

In 2008 following a decision to divest ourselves of the software product side of the business the company reformed as Miley Watts & Associates Ltd to refocus back onto what we do best which is to provide independent advice and solutions for Enterprise Data Management problems.
